Welcome to Arcola!
We’re thrilled to welcome you to Arcola Intermediate School—where students are encouraged to discover their potential, connect with their peers, and grow into confident, capable learners and leaders. Serving seventh and eighth grade students, Arcola is a vibrant community that blends academic excellence with a strong commitment to personal development and student well-being.
Our academic program is built around grade-level teams, each led by passionate and experienced teachers in English, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This team structure allows educators to collaborate closely, support each student's unique learning needs, and foster meaningful relationships that help students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
In addition to their core subjects, students engage in a rich rotation of classes that includes Expressive Arts, Physical Education, Health, and World Languages. These offerings provide opportunities for creative expression, physical activity, cultural exploration, and personal growth—ensuring that every student receives a well-rounded and engaging educational experience.
At Arcola, we understand that middle school is a time of tremendous growth and change. That’s why we have a dedicated team of school counselors who work closely with students to provide guidance, emotional support, and strategies for academic and social success. We believe in nurturing the whole child and creating a school culture where every student feels safe, valued, and empowered.
Outside the classroom, Arcola offers a wide variety of clubs, activities, and events that allow students to pursue their interests, build friendships, and develop leadership skills. Whether it’s through the arts, athletics, service opportunities, or academic clubs, students are encouraged to get involved and make the most of their time at Arcola.
We’re proud to be a place where students are supported, challenged, and celebrated. Welcome to our community—where every student matters, and every day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and shine.
